Jason Sharif

Neighborhood Organizer

Raised in the South Memphis community of Whitehaven, Jason Sharif has been a community and youth advocate for more than 20 years. After graduating from Whitehaven High School, Jason received his undergraduate degree in political science from Jackson State University and a master’s in public administration from Tennessee State University.

He worked for the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services as a child protective services investigator, juvenile justice probation officer, and juvenile justice regional coordinator. Jason taught sixth-grade social studies at Craigmont Middle School and served as director of the Westwood High School Boys & Girls Club before accepting his current role as neighborhood organizer for Whole Child Strategies.

Jason describes his role at Whole Childs as a natural continuation of his life’s work: to develop a new generation of leaders to serve our communities.
