How We Do It

The Big Picture

We believe meaningful progress and lasting change can only be achieved by addressing the larger systems that create barriers. Leveraging partnerships with community stakeholders, including students, parents, schools, residents, community-based organizations, local and state government agencies, faith-based entities, and business leaders, we deploy the following strategies:

  • Build strategic relationships, work collaboratively toward common goals, and address issues affecting community members’ well-being.

  • Build cohesion and trust between and amongst people living in the community.

  • Support community-defined short-, intermediate-, and long-term solutions that reflect active engagement from community members on the decisions, policies, and systems that directly impact their everyday lives.

  • Make investments in community-driven processes and short-, intermediate-, and long-term solutions identified to address residents’ economic needs and improve their quality of life.

Communities have complex needs, so we take a comprehensive approach.

Mission in Motion

Coordination and Cooperation

A whole community is a system of interconnected parts, each relying on one another to achieve large-scale, sustainable change. By supporting existing connections and creating new ones through place-based, resident-lead solutions, we advocate meaningful change to the public policies and social systems that impact our communities.

Grant Partnerships

We carry out our mission by partnering with organizations that are active and engaged within the communities we serve. These stakeholders already have the insight and initiative, so we act as a fiscal intermediary and connect them to capital and resources.

When vision meets investment, great ideas yield meaningful change.
